Smart, autonomous self-driving connected vehicles (CAVs) combined with smart infrastructure would provide synergies and benefits beyond that of each technology alone. Infrastructure adaptations to accelerate AV deployment include roadside units (RSUs) to communicate road and weather information to the AV, and better signing and striping to assist in way finding.
